Cathedral Products A3 Premium Laminator Machine for Office/Home - White

i bought this item and it was delivered on October 12th 2017. I used it only once for about 20 minutes. I tried to use it again on November 13th 2017 and it refused to heat up. The return date was November 1tth 2017. Now I am unable to find out how i can get it replaced or a refund. The amazon site is total rubbish when things go wrong. I have e amiled the manufacturer and am waiting their response. Don't but this product and try to avoid using Amazon at all costs !!

This Laminator is awful. The first time we tried to use it the laminating sheet got eaten up by the laminator and then got stuck in the machine. There is no option to return it as it says that the window to return has closed. Do not buy.

I havent had a laminator since i was an office admin and i used to laminate half the day.This is a nice wide laminator but its not too chunky so it will sit quite happily on a desk, or a shelf which is where mine is stored as its only 14cm wide so really slim. It heats up quite quickly, mine heated up in under 2 minutes. There is an icon emoji to let you know when it is done which lights up, and you are ready to go. This does laminate the 3 main sizes of paper being A3,4,5.You can buy Laminating pouches relatively cheaply, here are the official cathedral ones to go with this unit as you only get a small starter park of 5 pouches to get you started. Please note A3 are only available in packs of 20. Laminating Pouches 150 Micron, 100 Pack, A4 Laminating pouches 150 micron 20pk A3 In use you can of course just leave it to run through itself but i found that making sure it was kept taut will make sure your paper does not crease inside the pouch.I have been very happy with it so far, i used it to laminate my recent exam certificates and some mindfulness quotations to hang up in frames on my wall.

I've used many a laminator in my time, from super expensive variable temperature a3 machines (with and without cardboard 'pocket feeders') as a teacher to the perilously hot cheap on/off a4 from a high street stationers beginning with w and settled with a Cathedral A4 laminator for my own domestic uses as a mum and home educator.This is the next step up with the option of A3 (and to be fair preferable) and great value at this price as it offers both hot and cold laminating which is great for crafting (foiling can be done with a cold laminator) and general light laminating purposes.Like many cheaper models it does get hot but not perilously so unless you spend too long laminating. This is the kind of laminator you can't go hell for leather on say spending 30 mins plus laminating (spend at least double if not triple if you want that) instead it's 5-10 minutes kind of thing and then give it a break. But for this price you can't really argue.Admittedly you may have to do a double pass with collage type projects- I test laminated my daughter's paper collage (thin cut outs of wallpaper prints and craft paper on a piece of card) and that needed a double pass to get full contact sealing in the middle but to be expected with thicker materials and the price range of the laminator. This also means you cannot really double or triple stack like you can in a rush (ah the days of trying to laminate a full class set of activity cards during morning break) with more expensive machines.Overall this is a brilliant little budget machine with no frills but does the business well, excellent for light/general domestic tasks but if you are a bit more heavy duty you will need to spend at least double if not triple for something that can take the strain.Be warned this only came with A4 pouches not A3 but either are surprisingly affordable and a pack of 100 will last much longer than you think.

I like laminators but I've never seen an A3 one (I don't get out that much!) so was looking forward to having a go at this one I was asked to review.This laminator is quite bulky and long in comparison to A4 ones (not surprising really). This one came with a short 4-page instruction leaflet and 2x 150 micron and 2x 250 micron sheets - unfortunately they aren't A3 just A4 sheets - so I was a little disappointed in that. So I had to wait until I had got myself some A3 sheets to put this laminator through its paces... which I subsequently did.Being A3 you need to be a little more careful in feeding the sheets through as it is easier to get them kinked up - but I mastered this quite quickly (use a solid surface and don't rush or force anything is always a good motto I find!)the machine works quite simply. Just turn it on and, after a few minutes, feed the laminating pouch along with the thing you want laminated inside and voila the machine moves it through the machine and heats it up to make perfect laminated pages. I tried it with half a dozen different pages/materials (and the two sizes) and it worked each time. It says not to use anything thicker than 250 microns. It can accept anything from credit card size to A3 size.It has a "fast warm up" feature which means you can start laminating within 2 minutes of turning the machine on. To be honest I've never really had any laminating THAT urgent that I couldn't wait say 5 or 10 minutes - but i guess it's a useful feature for impatient laminators!All in all a good laminator and fast and efficient to use.
