Hauppauge 1660 Broadway TV Wi-Fi Network TV Tuner for iPhones, iPads, Android Phones, Tablets and Media Players

Specifications before buying and statement on box it came in said this would work for PC, but it won't. There is no application provided for Windows PC, only Apple and Android devices. Hauppauge suggest NextPDR, but that software does not supply video decoders that work for Windows 10.For my Android devices, repeated scanning always found different channels (the NextPDR found more but couldn't play them). I have two digital to analog converters on two TVs and one digital card in a PC that find almost twice as many channels from my high gain, amplified third story antenna. These report good to excellent signal strength. Of the channels found, many still would not stream and of those that did stream the sound was sometimes out of sync.This is a good idea, but this device is either poorly implemented or defective. Since I needed it for the PC, on which it won't work, and the streaming was poor and incomplete on Android, I returned it for refund. I have used Hauppauge tuners for many years on my PCs which influenced my selection for this purchase, but I was very disappointed in this device.

I have my TV antenna near a window upstairs on one end of my house and the router and TV set is on the other side. I was thinking about running an ethernet cable from one end of the house to the other, but found that I needed to punch a few holes in walls to go from upstairs to the bottom floor. At that point I almost decided it wasn't worth having live TV on my TV set through my Apple TV.But did a google search and found the cordcutter (which is apparently the same product as the one I bought, but with a different name). This unit solved my problem: I now have live TV on my TV set and I didn't need to punch holes in the wall. I tried out the iPad app and while the app is pretty basic, it works fine. For the price, you really can't beat this if running ethernet cable is not an option. If you have ethernet cables, you can probably save $15 and go with a wired TV receiver.

I had a lot of trouble getting it set up on a physical or Wifi Connection to my router. So if you’re not willing to put in the time to mess with it to get the set up correct I really don’t recommend this for you. But if you put in the effort you’ll be well rewarded. The software definitely has room for improvement. Does does have a DVR feature on it or you can record using a USB stick and most of this is used to the iPhone iPad or android.
