LG 4400EL2001F Genuine OEM Drum Belt for LG Dryers

Worked perfectly on our LG dryer, the job to replace it isn't that difficult.

My old belt had started to slip so that only a few items in the dryer caused the drum to stop. I watched video on youtube and was quickly able to replace the belt. This new belt fit perfectly and the dryer runs like new.

The belt is made by Gates although it is made in China. Bought the needed parts all separately - belt, rollers, idler pulley - because of the reviews of those kits that came with the belt which broke off prematurely. Since the job itself is still time consuming and not something you want to do it again soon, I spent $15 more and waited about 3 days to go with this "OEM" belt. Not sure if Gates was an OEM supplier but since the brand is a tier-1 automotive belt manufacturer, it was more of an insurance.Many local repairmen quoted $480 to $550 to fix this squeal from my electric LG dryer and after convincing my wife that I would give it a shot and fix the squeal before we spend $780 on another dryer, the job itself is not so bad as long as you have right tools. A few things I noticed --1. Lube these rollers and idler pulley's shafts with lubricant oil, preferably the synthetic.2. Roll the dryer drum to test the belt has seated to its original position.3. Keep the old parts, just in case - none of original rollers wore out excessively but they were all gritty, the belt was in good shape even after it ran for 10 years.4. For rollers in the back, using a 14mm 12-point combination wrench and an impact driver with 10mm socket saved me aggravations and time to take off the back panel.I was going to wait until autumn to do this (it's uncomfortably hot this summer) but since my wife was ready to drive down to a Home Depot for new dryer, a 2-hour investment to do this earned me a nice cold one yesterday.

I previously needed to replace a couple rollers on my LG dryer, so bought a kit that also included a idle arm pully and a belt. Although these didn't need to be replaced, I figured that since I was in there, I'd replace and try to avoid another repair in the future. That belt felt thin and disintegrated within 3 months. I was happy that this belt could be delivered within a day and replacement was pretty simple since I had done it already. This belt felt to be more substantial - like a thinner car belt. It's only been a few weeks, but so far it's been doing a good job.

BELT WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT BUT WORKS OK

Fit my LG DLE4870W perfectly. I was quoted over $250 by two local repair companies to replace the belt. It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish (I've never disassembled a dryer before). A very easy job if you watch the YouTube video on how to remove the top of the dryer. Just search "LG Dryer Disassembly" on YouTube for a very helpful video. The rest is just removing screws to get the belt around the drum and then put it around the pulley. Saved me nearly $250.

This belt did not fit my LG Dryer with a Mega Drum. This belt measures 92 inches and my dryer (DLEX8000V) uses a 98 inch belt. The belt that came with the dryer is a Hutchinson Poly V 5 PH 2495. Nothing was wrong with the belt as far as quality, it's just not the right fit as posted.
